Aalto University is a multidisciplinary science, business and art community of 20,000 students and 5000 staff. The university was created in 2010 through a merger of three leading universities in Finland: the Helsinki School of Economics, the University of Art and Design Helsinki, and the Helsinki University of Technology. Aalto University consists of six schools: School of Arts, Design and Architecture, School of Business, School of Chemical Technology, School of Electrical Engineering, School of Engineering, and School of Science. Aalto University offers you the highest level of education in the fields of art, business and technology. The combination of the three fields brings a whole new dimension to studying: in addition to the traditional degree options, students have the possibility to build a unique study experience that corresponds to their personal preferences and career aspirations. There is a wide variety of degree programmes available in English: one Bachelor’s programme, nearly 50 Master’s programmes and over 10 international joint degree programmes at Master level, and six doctoral programmes.

The university degrees that can be completed at Aalto University in English are BSc in Economics and Business Administration and MS in Economics and Business Administration, Master of Arts, Master of Science in Technology and Master of Science in Architecture. The academic postgraduate degrees offered are licentiate and doctoral degrees. In accordance with the European standards for higher education, at Aalto University, the extent of lower university degrees is 180 ECTS credits and the extent of higher university degrees is 120 ECTS credits. Aalto University offers Master’s degree programmes in the fields of art and design, business and economics, and science and technology. For more information about the programmes available and the programme descriptions, please see our website.

bachelors

Aalto University offers currently only one Bachelor programme in English, the Bachelor’s Programme in International Business at Aalto University School of Business, Mikkeli Campus (BScBA). Bachelor’s programmes are not available in English in the fields of Art and Design and Science and Technology.

scholarships

Aalto University does not offer any scholarships or any other type of funding to students. All students must take care of their living expenses from their own financial resources. Currently there are no tuition fees for the degree programmes offered by Aalto University. In the jointly organized international double degree programmes, some of our partner universities may charge tuition fees. In these programmes, scholarships may also be available. I am interested to enroll for masters degree program in Electrical /electronics engineering in your institute.I am a resident of India. I have completed my B.tech with electronics and communication engineering in 2011 with a GPA of 8.58 out of 10.Currently working as a software professional in TCS as a datawarehouse developer. After nearly 4 yrs of industrial exposure I have decided to dedicate myself in the field of higher studies and research work.I am keenly interested with the programs stated in the website. I have cleared my TOEFL examination with a score of 103 and GRE 295(Quant:152;Verb:143).I have carried 85 Percentage of marks throughout my career.I also work full time in a software MNC as a datawarehouse developer.I do have a profile as a literary contributor for a European magazine and have been awarded an International Press card for the same.What are my chances of getting absorbed to this courses?

Hello, Students who have completed a bachelor's degree at a university are welcome to apply for admission to pursue a Master's degree in the field of science and technology. The eligibility of the degree cannot be determined before the application has been received by Aalto University Admission Services. Admission is granted on competitive basis – the applicants are assessed on the basis of their academic record and compared to each other. Only the best applicants gain admission an unfortunately we cannot comment anyone's chances to be selected. Our minimum requirements for TOEFL scores are 92 (total) and 22 (writing). Please note that the scores need to be delivered to us by directly by the testing authorities. GRE scores are not mandatory for the applicants applying for the programmes in the field of Electrical Engineering. However, you can still attach the scores to your application. The next application round for studies starting in autumn 2016 will be organized 1 December 2015 - 15 January 2016.
